Surprise shook the IT industry on Thursday after Larry Ellison resigned as the CEO of the software giant Oracle. The billionaire, who recently turned 70, will remain in the American concern as Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chief Technology Officer, said "Spiegel", quoted by "Focus". Former deputies Ellison - Mark Hurd and Safra Catz will replace him at the head of the company.
Hurd will take care of sales, marketing and strategy. Katz remains responsible for the finances. llison is one of the founders of the company Oracle in 1977. He is currently one of the richest men on the planet, as his net assets total around 49.7 billion dollars.
