AMD is preparing a 16 - core processor for the server and consumer market. The chip must integrate the controller PCI Express 3.0. Future
desktop processor will have 16 CPU cores, in particular - 8 module
Bulldozer, unlike the last company's APU chips ( accelerated processing unit), in which computing cores includes the GPU, announced
techpowerup.com, quoted by TechNews. This will not be a server processor such as Opteron 6300, consisting of two chips in one package. Under
the new processor, now known by the name "Family 15h Models 30h - 3Fh",
all the cores are placed on a silicon crystal and connected by a single
4 -channel bus HyperTransport. A curious fact is also that by design, the chip must integrate controller PCI Express 3.0.
