The constantly on TV set in your appartment is harmful for the small kid's mental development, when they don't even watch it !
American scientists say the number of words which the kids hear and say is decresing.
"The constantly on Tv in your home is dramatically lowering your kid's spoken ability. The tv is harmful for those who watch the kids, too and is potentially harmful for the babies." say the pediatric proffesor from the University of Washington Dimitri Hristakis. His discoveries say that for every hour of working tv the kids hear between 500 and 1000 words less from the adults."The adults say around 941 words per hour. Our study shows that those words are completely elliminated when the TV is on." Because spoken words are such a crutial element in the developement of the brain the constant TV watching can lead to other brain damaging effects. This is especially troublesome knowing that 30% of US citizens admit leaving the TV on all the time !
